Learn Ukrainian At ENGin

​

We offer one-on-one online Ukrainian lessons taught by professional teachers in Ukraine, with all proceeds going to support ENGin. Lessons are available to children and adults - complete beginners, heritage speakers, and everyone in between.  Click here to learn more and try a lesson!

Become an ENGin Member

​

Our membership program for current and former volunteers is the perfect opportunity to engage more deeply with ENGin while supporting our students and team.

​

To ensure membership is accessible to our diverse volunteer base, there is no minimum fee - just set up a monthly donation of any size using the donation form. (If you would like to make your contributions by check, DAF, etc, just let us know to expect them via our pledge form).

As a member, you will receive an exclusive newsletter with direct-from-Ukraine content and invitations to special events with Ukrainian experts from a variety of fields.

Donate Your Professional Skills to ENGin

​

We have so many talented volunteers joining us with experience in a wide variety of industries. If you might be interested in using your professional skills to support ENGin, please fill out this form, and we will be in touch if a need arises. We do ask that volunteers meet with their student(s) for at least 4 months before taking on a specialized role with ENGin. Some examples of skill sets that would be valuable for our team: communications/PR, fundraising, partnership building, software development, graphic design, video creation, accounting, website design, curriculum development, etc.

Become an ENGin Ambassador!

​

Are you interested in taking on a volunteer leadership role with ENGin and becoming a spokesperson for our organization within your community? If so, consider joining our ENGin Ambassador Program!

 

​ENGin Ambassadors spread awareness about ENGin with the goal of sharing their ENGin story with as many people as possible. Ambassadors will be provided with a short training video and a detailed toolkit including flyers, presentation slides, and ideas for outreach. Our hope is that with your help, we will be able to maximize our reach and increase our volunteer base in the US and worldwide.

Start an ENGin Chapter (Age 18+)

​

ENGin Chapter leaders recruit and welcome new members, organize chapter meetings at least once a month to build meaningful connections with fellow volunteers, and plan chapter events designed to recruit new volunteers, explore Ukrainian culture, or help raise funds for ENGin. 

​

New ENGin Chapters are on hold for now as we want to focus our energy on supporting existing chapters and setting them up for success. We will resume accepting new chapter applications in late spring/summer 2024. However, chapter members will continue to be welcomed and accepted into existing ENGin Chapters!

Start an ENGin Club

​

While ENGin chapters are for volunteers of all ages, ENGin clubs are structured to better serve high school and college students who want to include only members within their peer group.  
 
ENGin clubs serve two primary functions: 
1. To recruit and support volunteers in ENGin’s weekly 1-to-1 English practice program.
​2. To plan events and projects to support ENGin and Ukraine.
​
There is a $50 (USD) application fee for ENGin Clubs to cover operational costs. Please submit your club fee here. The ENGin team supports clubs by providing a toolkit of resources, official ENGin Club logos, ideas for events and projects, featuring clubs on social media, and certifying additional volunteer hours toward club duties as needed. Become an ENGin Volunteer Mentor

The ENGin mentor program connects new and experienced ENGin volunteers for one-on-one support. Through email, texts, and videochats. ENGin volunteer mentors check in with their mentees for a period of 1-2 months to help answer questions and resolve any problems.

​

For our experienced volunteers, the program is a great opportunity to take on a leadership role, deepen your involvement with ENGin, and pass on your experience to others. The commitment is flexible and totals just a few hours for each mentee.​

​

Moderate an Online Community for ENGin Students

 

We have 33 online topic-based communities for ENGin students and are looking for motivated and responsible volunteers to become moderators for these communities. As a moderator, you will obtain leadership and communication experience while actively utilizing your creativity and time management skills. If you are interested in Ukrainian culture, reading, photography, art, theatre or music, this is the right opportunity for you. Didn’t see your favorite topic listed? I want to get more involved with ENGin in a different way. Can I propose my own project, leadership role, or internship instead?

​

We love our volunteers, and we want every volunteer to have a wonderful experience with us. Before you give us your valuable time, we need to ensure that we have the capacity to support you - providing clear instructions, answering questions, offering feedback, and ultimately using your work.

​

As a small organization, our resources are very limited. This means we usually cannot provide the support volunteers need for tasks outside those listed on our site and biweekly emails. This is especially true for internships, since successful internships involve extensive training and support. 

​

We know this might seem discouraging - trust us, we also wish we had more people and more time so we could get you involved! However, we know that there's nothing more frustrating than a volunteer diving in and not getting the support they need. 

​
